We were stoked when Billy Rohan sent us 11 solid tracks a few months back, including his tune – Switzerland for his first playlist mix. So we had to hit up for some more recommendations and he not only fired over another 11 gems, he added on two more of his own tracks, one of which he raps on and another where he sings, alongside a selection of some more choice Wu Tang, MF Doom, some cold 90s gold and a bunch of hard rap tunes with sick beats.

But don’t just listen to what we’ve got to say about his mix selections and his two tracks in it though, read what he had to say about creating them and get them both on rotation in his playlist mix below.

“It was really just a fun experience to make some songs with friends and to be able to record it at the same time.

The best way I could explain it would be like a good beat is like a marble street.

The words are like the tricks in a line, some times you get it first try and sometimes it takes a while.

Sometimes the spot is rough and you’re not feeling it at that moment similar with music when the beat is right, magic can happen.”

Basquiat Andy Warhol

“My track ‘Basquiat Andy Warhol’ was made when my little sister was visiting NYC with her friend Jay Shuster who is an amazing music composer.

We were joking about doing a song about things rich people like and he made the best in garage band in a few minutes. I freestyled it with the apple headphones. Her friend Rachel Lee Roth sang back up vocals. It’s a good one cause it gets stuck in your head and it’s not a rap song”

The Queen

“The Queen was a song I came up with in the time I spent in London from 1999-2000 and my friend in Vicques, Switzerland, Daniel, understood the idea was to sample the Queen of England in a tasteful way and put it with the song.

He managed to make it work and we were both super happy with the final product. Her majesty passed away so I sat on it for a few years out of respect to the Crown.

Now enough time has passed and I don’t think anyone would be offended by it. So I hope you enjoy and thanks again for everything you do in skateboarding and music hope to see you in London in the future. I’m well overdue for a visit to Southbank.”
