Mikey McKennedy is a skateboarder and artist
I’m an artist and a creative spirit who grew up skateboarding and making art so my creative process always takes in everything that I thought that was cool when I was a kid.
I think that all of the things that you experience growing up resonate with you unlike anything else that you will experience later in life. Punk, hardcore, metal, skating, books, movies, art and comics . . . they are all intertwined in my subconscious. They give me that feeling in your chest when you know you’re on to something and you can’t stop until you get it out.
One of the things that gets me hyped on skating right now is Welcome Skateboards. They are a huge inspiration to me. I would love to do a collab with their artist Jason Celeyda and the team someday. His art is rad and his attitude is rad.
Zero Skateboards and Jamie Thomas inspire me of course as does Adrian Lopez and his company Loser Machine too.

Everybody keep supporting it and keep creating! Right now, I am working on a new project called The Planet of Doom, which is an animated fantasy movie about a chopper riding Viking dude with an epic soundtrack composed by a series of metal bands.
I’ve got lots of graphics commissions and painting to do and a few projects I can’t mention right now that will be revealed soon!
